Goonies inspired me!

Here’s a funny behind‑the‑scenes truth: the entire idea for a story about a creepy cave called Cave Death came from one place — The Goonies. Yep. That glorious 80s adventure movie with treasure maps, booby traps, and a creature living in the dark absolutely convinced me that I needed to write a movie about kids exploring a dangerous cave, too.

Even the idea of something living inside the cave was inspired by the Goonies vibe… though I tried very, very hard not to breach copyright. Let’s just say my creature was “Goonies‑adjacent” and leave it at that. LOL.

So while the modern novel has evolved into something completely different — Dream Reality, mysteries, time‑bending, and a whole new world — the spark that started it all was pure 1980s movie magic, popcorn, and a cave full of trouble.
