The Bonus Fun Fact

  • Bonus Fun Fact — The Name Behind the Peak

The “Ian” in Ian’s Peak actually comes from my own middle name. I always loved the sound of it, and when I needed a town with a bit of mystery and weight behind it, I realised the perfect name had been with me all along. So the town literally carries a piece of me — it’s my little signature hidden inside the world.

  • Bonus Fun Fact — The Origin of D.J. Brand

The name D.J. Brand comes from my old nickname, “D.J.” Back in the day, I used to be the one in charge of the music at work, so everyone just started calling me “the DJ.” The name stuck, and when it came time to choose an author name, it felt right to keep that part of my history alive. I wasn’t just writing stories back then… I was running the soundtrack.

  • Bonus Fun Fact — My Favourite Song and Movie Snuck Into the Book

Here’s a fun little secret: I couldn’t resist slipping a couple of my own favourites into the story. At one point in the book, I mention “Tainted Love” — one of my all‑time favourite songs to sing at karaoke. Yes, I’ve belted it out more than once, and yes, I probably enjoyed it way too much. LOL.

And if you spotted the reference to Back to the Future, that wasn’t an accident either. It’s one of my favourite movies of all time, and honestly, how could I write a story involving time, visions, and strange events without giving a nod to the greatest time‑travel film ever made?

Those little Easter eggs are my way of leaving a few personal fingerprints inside the world of Ian’s Peak.
